Comedy Night Cast
The Champaign Rotary Comedy Night features a stellar cast of comedians from the Chicago Comedy All-Stars. Read a bit more about each member of the cast below.
Jimmy McHugh
Jimmy McHugh has been dishing out his style of comedy for over 25 years. Born and raised on the Northwest side of Chicago, Jimmy blends a mixture of classic observational humor emphasized with his unique vocal and facial expressions.
Taking his swings at the world of sports, Ernie Tucker of the Chicago Sun Times wrote, “Jimmy McHugh delivers some of the funniest sports material I have ever heard.”
Jimmy makes appearances comedy clubs in Chicago and nation wide. He has also been seen on Comedy Central, HBO, MTV, ESPN2 and the Oprah Winfrey Show.
Patti Vasquez
Patti Vasquez, a Chicago native, started after leaving graduate school at Northwestern University to work as an emcee at Zanies Comedy Club in 1995. Her unique perspective on family and relationships has been described as “Comedy with a Heart.” Her stories about growing up in a multiethnic American family cause laughter at the unique but all too familiar situations. Patti also exposes the truths about pregnancy and shares the comic moments of giving birth and raising children.

Patti has appeared in many comedy festivals including Just For Laughs, HBO's Las Vegas Comedy Festival, the Chicago Comedy Festival and Marshall's Women in Comedy Festival in New York City.
Tim Cavanagh
When Tim Cavanagh finished school, he took a career aptitude test and based on his verbal ability score, it suggested that he become a mime. Unfortunately, that was the year mimes went on strike for better working conditions (bigger make-believe boxes to be trapped in, a less stiff imaginary wind to run against, etc.). So Tim walked away from the mime world, which was hard. While walking away, he pretended to be pulled along by a big invisible dog.
Since 1996, Tim has been a regular guest on the award winning “Bob & Tom” radio show, which is heard nationwide on 130-plus stations. Tim has been featured on an ABC-TV prime time comedy special, as well as on Comedy Central, Showtime, and WGN America. Aside from headlining comedy clubs, concerts and shows on Carnival Cruise Lines, Tim has performed at hundreds of corporate events. From Mayo Clinic and Xerox to the Midwest Poultry Federation and Prairie Bolt & Screw, his clean and clever material has made him a hit.

Dez Mulrooney
Des Mulrooney, following in the footsteps of his stand-up comedian father TP Mulrooney, Des has crafted his unique style of comedy with observations, cynicism and overall strife of life that he is able to deliver with an easy style.
Des has honed his comedy all over Chicagoland on the stages of Zanies, The Improv, The Vault, Laugh Factory. Des also co-stars in the movie “Road Dog” which reunites a son with his recently resurfaced stand-up comedian father as he also wants to be a comedian like his dad.
